Parabolic Surface - 03/03/2020
AUTOCAD In this class we learn how to create a parabolic surface. To create the parabolic surface we need to start by drawing a parabola. In order to that, we first start by using auxiliar lines. After we draw these lines, using comands as: LINE , OFFSET , TEXT and CIRCLE , and using a specific rule, we are able so start finding the points that will define our parabola. Once the points are found, we can join them with a single SPLINE, and hide the auxiliar lines. Now that we have our parabola defined, we will turn in into a 3D object, by using REVSURF and the horizontal axis that we called "e", and to give it an uniform look we use SHADE . Since the object doesn't have thickeness we will add some by doing another parabola using OFFSET , and then we do the same process as before of using REVSURF AND SHADE . We can also use the other axis, that will generate a different object.
